M.Min Options

In the bid for accreditation, NU is required to make adjustments in its graduate programs.  Students admitted to the NationsUniversity graduate program prior to September 5, 2008 have a choice of patterns.  They may choose to complete the degree by fulfilling the pattern in effect when they registered.  Or, they may choose to satisfy a later set of requirements.  We recommend switching to the current pattern if feasible.  

The pattern in effect from August 3, 2008 through September 4, 2008:

The M.R.S. degree (or equivalent) plus 30 credits, which include
M 7 and higher courses and/or MRS 600s numbered courses (18 credits)
Electives drawn from non-ministry couses within the NU graduate curriculum (12 credits)

The pattern in effect prior to August 3, 2008:
 
Foundation Course Requirements: If the student did not complete the Bachelor of Religious Studies at NationsUniversity, the follow courses are required:

A Search for Spirituality (MRS 622)
The Hebrew Scriptures (MRS 001) or Critical Introduction to the Old Testament (M 1)
Theology of the Hebrew Scriptures (MRS 004) or Systematic Theology (M 3)
The Greek Scriptures (MRS 006) or Critical Introduction to the New Testament (M 2)
Theology of the Greek Scriptures (MRS 009) or Systematic Theology (M 3)
Biblical Hermeneutics (M 4)
Ministry (M 603)
Worship (M 601)

If the student completed a Bachelor of Religious Studies degree at NationsUniversity, he/she is exempt from taking the above courses.  These 20 credits may be satisfied with electives.

Other Course Requirements:

Biblical Text Courses (6 credits minimum)

        Electives drawn from MRS 200s and 300s

Backgrounds, History, and Theology (6 credits minimum)

        Electives drawn from MRS 100s, 400s, and 500s

Ministry Courses (4 credits minimum)
