Proctored Exam Policy
Beginning Jan. 2, 2012 all new students will be taking a specific number of proctored exams from each of our degree programs: BRS, MRS, and M. Div. These will be comprehensive exams over specific courses. Accreditation standards require that we have regular proctored exams spaced throughout each program of study. The purpose of proctored exams is to assure that the student who takes the exam is the same person who enrolled in the prescribed program and that examination results reflect the student’s own knowledge and competence.

Changes to Enrollment Process
Students will be REQUIRED to submit a valid government-issued photo indentification to confirm their identity. This will be submitted with the Enrollment Agreement. The Registrar's Office will send a verified copy of the Enrollment Agreement by e-mail.
Choosing a Proctor
Students are responsible for selecting a potential proctor at least one month before taking the first proctored exam. In choosing a proctor you may not select a roommate, fellow student, friend, or family member/spouse. Choose someone who is interested in your education: i.e., government officials, military personnel, public or college librarians, human resources personnel, educators, guidance counselors, lawyers, doctors, cluster leaders, elders, deacons, ministers, or village officials. Your proctor should be aware that he/she is expected to uphold the NU Honor Code.
Students should direct potential proctors to the NU website to complete a Proctor Application online. Once a proctor is approved, the same proctor will be able to proctor all the exams. If your proctor becomes unavailable at some point, you will need to choose another proctor before you next scheduled proctored exam.
The first proctored exam for the BRS program is BRS 3. It cannot be accessed until a student successfully completes BRS 16.6, BRS 1, and BRS 2. Advisors will provide suggestions to students on how to prepare for these exams.
