Registration

NationsUniversity students take courses at their own pace, therefore, students can enroll in NationsUniversity at any time. NationsUniversity is a year-round university and does not have “semesters” or “quarters.”

In order to be formally admitted into an academic program, you must first  register with NationsUniversity. Please read all the information below and carefully follow each step to complete your registration and formal admission.

Note: If you reside in Alabama, Arkansas, Nevada, or Wyoming please contact us at registrar@nationsu.org before attempting to register as there restrictions that apply.

1. Admission standards. Admission to NationsUniversity requires certificate/degree applicants to possess the educational background, intellectual capabilities and language skills necessary for college-level study. The following standards must be met for formal admission into a certificate/degree program:

a. Evidence of having attained an educational level equal to, or above, that provided by a U.S. high school

b. Proficiency in language of courses. If English is a second language, the applicant must be able to perform at a minimum 550 on the TOEFL® (Test of English as a Foreign Language).

c. Applicants for the Masters of Religious Studies or Masters of Divinity degree must have completed the equivalent of a U.S. four-year degree with a minimum 120 credit hours.

2. Read the Academic CatalogEnrollment Agreement, and Policy for Proctored Exams for information on all of NationsUniversity's programs, along with student policies.

3. Register by submitting personal information online.

a. Registration Fees

•  Students living outside the U.S. pay no fees.

•  Registration Fee: All U.S. students (including incarcerated) are to pay a $25 Registration Fee at the time of registration, following which they may immediately enroll in a course and begin their studies.

•  Technology Fee: U.S. non-incarcerated students are to pay a $250 Technology Fee for each academic year. The initial year's payment is required at the time the student submits his/her credentials, as described below. Fees are paid by going to Student Payments under the Current Students tab on the NU homepage. If the full amount cannot be paid immediately, monthly payments may be scheduled (see payment link)

•  No NU transcripts or academic awards will be provided until required fees are paid.

4. Submit credentials

a.  Submit an official transcript or academic record.  An official transcript is one sent directly to NationsUniversity by the institution awarding credit, a diploma, or a degree.  Documents received from the student are unofficial.

P.O. Box 3342
Brentwood, TN 37024-3342
U.S.A.

b.  Since an official transcript or academic record offers evidence of educational attainment, submission of a college/university transcript makes a secondary transcript school unnecessary.  An official transcript from a college/university that has conferred a bachelor's or higher degree (representing 120 semester credit minimum) shall be sufficient to qualify for admission to a master's degree program.

c.  Transfer credit will be considered when supported by an official transcript.

d.  Students who submit unofficial credentials to registrar@nationsu.org must establish their eligibility for admission to a degree program by completing thirty (30) credits at the bachelor's level or fifteen (15) credits at the master's level.

e.  Students whose first language is other than English must present a TOEFL minimum of 550 or establish their eligibility for admission to a degree program or by completing thirty (30) credits of English instruction at the undergraduate level or fifteen (15) credits of English instruction at the graduate level.

Once the credentials have been reviewed by the Registrar, the student will be assigned to an appropriate certificate/degree program and will receive notice of formal admission to NationsUniversity.

5. Receive Username and Password. Within two hours, you will receive an e-mail with your username and password. Your username is unique to you and should be used in communication with NationsUniversity personnel.

Note: If you do not receive an e-mail confirmation from us within two hours of submitting your registration, it could be because (1) your e-mail address is incorrect or (2) your spam filter caught the message. For more information, contact registrar@nationsu.org.

6. Receive link to Get Started Instructions. You can access instructions on how to start taking courses through the NU website or through the Get Started Instructions that will be e-mailed to you. After you log in, you will see green chalkboards in the lower right corner that are tutorials containing the same information.

7. Receive greeting from your advisor. Each student is assigned an advisor to guide them through their academic program. Your advisor will also give you instructions and reminders in his/her first e-mail to you. You should contact your advisor when you have questions about your studies.

8. Receive formal Letter of Admission and Enrollment Agreement. The Registrar will e-mail you an acknowledgement of your formal admission into an academic program. Your User Report will show the program in which you are enrolled. Follow the instructions in the e-mail to return a signed Enrollment Agreement.

9. Continue your studies online.

General Notes about NationsUniversity Academics:

•  Active status continues for one calendar year from registration.  With each course completed, the registration period is automatically extended for one calendar year.

•  NationsUniversity students are expected to do their work online. This means courses will be accessed directly over the Internet and exams will be taken online.  Course syllabi can also be printed from a PDF file.

•  NU students are responsible for checking the website for announcements, news, and grade reports.

•  NU students are permitted to take any undergraduate course offered. Graduate courses are limited to those who hold a bachelor's (or equivalent) degree.  However, a prospective graduate student may take Foundations courses before being formally admitted to the graduate program.

•  Students work at different rates and completion time for each course will vary.  When one course is completed, the student proceeds to the next course in their program, which can be found on the user report. We strongly recommend, following this plan, one course at a time.

•  Students registering as part of an affiliated school or cluster will be subject to regulations governing the affiliation or cluster.

•  After you complete your Registration form, you will be directed to "Confirm your registration." This page contains information regarding the fee structure that ended December 31, 2011 and should be disregarded.

•  Students may withdraw from an academic program at any time. See Student Payments for the refund policy.

•  If you have been a student at NationsUniversity previously and are returning, we welcome you back. Please use this e-mail link (in the subject field please type "Re-enroll" to help us update your profile. You do not need to register again.)  Click here to contact us.
