Bachelor of Religious Studies

The Bachelor of Religious Studies program requires 120 semester hour credits.  Thirty (30) of these must be taken with NU and must include all the credits specified courses.  A minimum of 30 additional credits must be drawn from the following disciplines: communications, English, mathematics, science, and social science.  These credits must include six (6) in English and a maximum of eight (8) in any of the other disciplines.  Thirty (30) more religious studies credits must include courses in worldview, ministry, worship, and two courses that exegete individual biblical books.  For calculation of religious studies credit, all courses taken at NU can be counted.

Program Objectives

1.  Identify the process of personal spiritual formation
2.  Demonstrate basic biblical literacy
3.  Describe the theological message of biblical scripture
4.  Demonstrate the use of theological tools in interpreting biblical scripture
5.  Reflect a basic knowledge of liberal education
6.  Demonstrate an awareness of religious worldviews and interpret worldviews from a biblical perspective

Students who registered prior to January 1, 2011 may complete the degree under requirements in effect when they registered.  These are displayed in the curriculum assigned to their username.  Students may opt for later requirement upon demand.
