This “Guide to Internet Resources for Teaching and Learning in Theology and Religion” was set up “with the specific intention of locating and organizing Internet resources for the benefit of students and teachers in religious studies.”  Has over 2,000 annotated links (arranged by subject) to the following resources on the Internet: syllabi, electronic texts, electronic journals, Web sites, bibliographies, liturgies, reference resources, software, etc. Identifies highest quality sites as Top Site.  This best Web directory in this subject field is maintained by Charles K. Bellinger, theological librarian and assistant professor of theology and ethics at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, TX.

 

 

Guide to Early Church Documents

This Website by the Institute for Christian Leadership includes links to the full-texts of the Apostolic Fathers, early church fathers, creeds, and miscellaneous documents by such authors as Herodotus, Plato, and Plutarch.

Provides the full text of the translations published in the Ante-Nicene Fathers and Select Library of the Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers of the Christian Church.

Managed by Dr. Hans Rollmann this site features “historical texts, pictures, resources for historical research and links to other relevant pages dealing with the Restoration Movement.”  A new feature of this site is a digital library.  The first item in this project is the full text of Word and Work (1913-56) in digital format.

 

 

ACU Center for Restoration Studies Collections Database

Contains inventories of personal paper collections and vertical file collections on churches and leaders of the Restoration Movement, photos, and online documents, including eight letters of A. Campbell to his wife Selina.

Managed by Scott Harp.  Contains a large number of biographical sketches of Restoration leaders.  Most sketches include location and picture of grave. Has a master index of the graves of Restoration leaders by state.  Includes the full-text of 19 books from the Restoration Movement and links to many others.

 

 

Disciples of Christ Historical Society Homepage

This library contains about 37,000 books, 3000 periodical titles, over 2500 pamphlets, 300,000 photographs & illustrations, 35, 000 biographical files, files on 23,000 congregations, and archives for institutions & organizations associated with the Restoration Movement.  The Website provides links to other Restoration sites and resources, including links to indexes of 10 major Restoration periodicals.

 

 

Canadian Churches of Christ Historical Society  

This society’s aim is “to gather and preserve into one central collection, historical materials pertaining to the ‘Restoration Movement’ in Canada.”  The Web site includes PDF files of 2 issues of the Christian Quarterly (Jan. 1916 & Oct. 1917) and the Christian Monthly Review, 1919-1933, the Society’s newsletter, and papers dealing with the Restoration Movement in Canada.

Hymnals of the Stone-Campbell Movement: Enos E. Dowling Hymnal Collection

Click on “Stone Campbell Hymnals.” Contains the lyrics of over 9,000 hymns from 19 hymnals. “It also includes the scanned pages of the hymnals, MIDI versions of the tunes, a search engine for finding a particular hymn (by title, first line, topic, or author of the lyrics or tune), as well as background information about the authors and compilers of the hymns.”
